The Wonder that is Saydee

If you haven't ever met Saydee then after she stops barking at you you'll realize that she is the cutest dog in the whole world. She is full of tons of personality and we wanted to share a few of her quarks with you.

Today was such a beautiful day we decided to bust out the scooter again and drove Saydee to a nearby park. Surprisingly she enjoyed the scooter ride and the wind in her face.

She is a fetch queen, but she hasn't mastered the art of dropping her toy after bringing it back:)

When she gets running fast she jumps over and over again. It's pretty funny.

Have you ever seen calics on a dogs bum. We love her little swirls of hair on her bum. She also has them on her neck.

If there is sun on the carpet shining through the window you can bet Saydee will be working on her tan, but when the floor doesn't have any sun on it she loves curling up in her blanket on top of the couch.

Saydee is part wolf as well. Whenever we start howling she jumps in and it's pretty stinkin' cute!

These are some fun videos of Saydee. When we brought her back from the vet they put a bandage on her leg and she kept throwing it back and straightening it. Also, we love how excited she gets when you say, "Wanna Treat?" Also, her howl is so cute.

The Extra Mile

If you've spent more than a day with Trish you'll know that she goes the extra mile in everything that she does. She was recently called to be the Young Women's secretary in our ward (I'll miss her in Sunbeams with me) and the previous secretary hadn't made binders for any of the presidencies. Well Trish couldn't be happy with just buying binders...she had to scrapbook a page to go in every binder. About 20 scrapbooked binders later she has gone way above and beyond. They all looked awesome and hopefully the girls will appreciate them because she put a lot of time and effort into them.

Earth Hour

I don't know how many of you knew about Earth Hour, but last Saturday, March 28th, apparently the whole world turned off all electricity from 8:30-9:30 local time. Trish and I normally aren't very earthy/granolaey/whoeverelsey might get excited about Earth Hour, but it sounded like fun. We got home around 8:00 and started cooking dinner. The oven took longer to pre-heat then expected so Trish's chicken nuggets didn't get their full 14 minutes by the time 8:30 rolled around, but at 8:30 we turned off all our lights, unplugged our electric things, turned off Trish's new favorite Scentsy plug ins, lit some candles and enjoyed the night. We ate dinner sitting on the floor and sadly it was the first time in a while that we have eaten without the TV on. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. After eating we used that little lantern type candle on the table below to walk upstairs and find some games to play. We had to keep playing games until Trish started winning so we went through a few rounds of sequence, yahtzee, etc until Trish found her new favorite game with 9 cards. I didn't beat her once! It was a fun night and Earth Hour turned into Earth Hours for us and hopefully it will turn into a family tradition in the years to come.

Home Sweet Home

I wish I could say that picture with our Christmas lights was from Christmas time, but we still have our lights up (granted we don't turn them on any more, it's just been to cold to take them down)...Any way, here are some pics of our home. We still have a long way to go, but we are getting it done one room at a time. It has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms so there is plenty of room for visitors:)

Valentine's Day!!!

So...every year Russell and I switch off who plans Valentine's Day. This year was Russell's turn. It's always a surprise as to what we do...Russell had given me a few hints but didn't spill the beans. He told me that he had two things planned....one in the morning and one at night. He also told me that both of the things we were doing were things that I had told him I wanted to do. And lastly...that neither one of them was romantic. Ha...so as we were driving up the canyon I guessed it...we were going to take a little ride on the Heber Creeper....for those of you who don't know what that is, it's a 2 hour ride on a very old train. We had a blast drinking hot chocolate and playing games. Russell took some cool pictures...he is getting pretty good at using our new camera! Then later that night we went to a monster truck rally! It was a blast...i couldn't even handle how many white trash people were there...it was great!! I wished I had known about this date because you know I would have dressed up WT too!! All in all, Russell did a great job planning V day....he was right, it wasn't very romantic but it was a blast!! Now I gotta start thinking about next year.

Foosball Champion!!!

We went to DI the other day and created a foosball championship belt. After a grueling best two out of three tournament Trish earned the belt and she hasn't stopped rubbing it in my face since. I find her victory dance strangely attractive though so I think I'm going to keep letting her win:)

From Sun to Snow

Over Christmas we stayed in Utah with all the snow--p.s. even with all the snow we have not gone sledding yet and Trish has still never built a snowman after lots of years in Utah. Any way, we took family pictures with Russell's family, drank lots of hot chocolate at Mimi's Cafe mmmmmmmm and another mmmmmmmm cause it's so good, and worked a lot on our house. It was a great break!

These onesies are by far on my top ten favorite things ever!!!

Oh...I just love our little Saydee and she loves the fire. Little Ann (my parents dog) is really jealous of Saydee and gets depressed when she's around:(

Thanksgiving in California...Just a little late:)

So over Thanksgiving...I know it's lame that we are finally putting up pictures from Thanksgiving...we went to California and all of Trish's sisters were there. It was fun to have 16 nieces and nephews and 12 adults partying in the same house. A woo hoo!!! We took family pictures while we were down there, did a BBQ on the beach, and of course had a fabulous thanksgiving dinner!!!

Tootin' my own Horn!

Well, I wanted to toot my own horn a little bit because I'm so excited about my new products this month. I had an article about Energy drinks get accepted by the New Era and they printed it in this months Issue. Then my dad and I recently did a talk about Text Messaging titled "Keep Texting from Taking Over." Deseret Book recorded it during the summer and now it is out in the stores and on their web site. I'm super excited about it and still get a huge smile on my face when I walk into Deseret Book and see my name on something.

Las Vegas

Hooray for Las Vegas! Trish and I recently had to go to Las Vegas for work, but that didn't stop us from playing in the evenings! We saw the lions in the MGM Grand, got a few weeks worth of exercise walking up and down the strip, paid way too much for Gelatto, and we went to the aquarium in Mandalay Bay. It turned out to be a great trip and we made a lot of memories!

This is the gelatto that cost $18. Can you believe that? It was the second smallest gelatto and we didn't see the prices when we ordered it. When the cash register lady said 18 something I thought we were buying a months supply. When we sat down to enjoy our dollar per spoonful gelatto the guys next to us started laughing and said "at least you didn't spend $43 like us." At albertsons I think $43 would buy you like a cows lifetime worth of ice cream, but in Vegas they do things a little different. Oh well...

Happy Halloween

For Halloween we went down to my parents house and carved pumpkins. It was a ton of fun and we made some good pumpkins in the end. Mine is the skeleton and Trish did the bat! We are super excited for Halloween and for all our little sunbeams to come trick-or-treating on our door.

So we went to the circus a few weeks ago and it was amazing! Some of the things those people can do blows my mind. My favorite part was the elephants...I asked Trish if we could buy one but she didn't want to hear it:)

Viva Bahamas!

So, being the most amazing husband that he is, Russell surprised me with a trip to the Bahamas!! It was so beautiful and we did so many fun things.. so sorry for all the pictures, we couldn't help but share. We will definitely be going back again someday.

Russell has heard me talk about wanting to swim with Dolphins a lot, so he decided to plan that into our trip. You'll see pictures of that in a little bit. Here is us hanging out with a couple of Sea Lions..they were so much fun!

If you know me, you know I have a passion for the ocean. I love everything about it...including sharks!! I'm the dork that watches shark week intently every year. They had a big tank of about 21 sharks, maxing out at about 14 feet long, and Russ and I decided we would go take a swim with them. There were Caribbean Reef Sharks and Nurse Sharks which are naturally non aggressive sharks but you never know. So as you can imagine it was a bit of a thrill being in the tank with them. Sorry the pictures suck, underwater disposable cameras aren't too nice but we are still waiting for the professional pictures that the diver took of us. I can cross this off my bucket list now.

This was the funnest thing we did in the Bahamas..trainer for a day with the Dolphins. We got to learn about them, feed them and swim with them for a whole day!! We had a blast, thanks baby for planning this!!

Here the dolphins are swimming Russell through the pool by him holding onto their dorsal fins. We got to do this a few times and it was so cool. They are strong little buggers.

It was fun to see how much fun Russell had. If it wasn't for our 2 mortgages (stupid responsibility) we would be living in the Bahamas being dolphin trainers!!

Free Sectional!!!

Trish and I love Knights Mattress and Furniture here in Lehi, and after winning a couch from them we love them even more. We stopped by on Labor Day and entered our names into a raffle, but figured it was really just a gimmick to get our information. I entered and then Trish entered with her maiden name just in case we couldn't have two entries with the same last name. Yeah, well you see that couch on the top left of this picture...we totally won it. It is a $1000.00 sectional sofa that fits perfectly into our house and it didn't cost us a thing. How cool is that!

Sliding Rock

On Labor Day Nicki and Cam invited us to go to sliding rock. For those of you who aren't locals...sliding rock is a natural waterfall with smooth rocks so it makes for a great slide. It looks like it will do some damage to your bum, but no go. It made for a fun day!!!

Cam was the first to brave the slide. We sacrificed him first to make sure it wouldn't hurt our buns...and it didn't!

Saydee Wilcox

Saydee Wilcox is our new little Teacup Chihuahua. She's already grown a lot, but is still intsy wintsy... She will end up being 3 and a half pounds when she if full grown. She is super fun except for when she bites our fingers, noses, hair, toes, and ear lobes. She is a great addition to our family!

A Quick (or ridiculously long) Catch up

We finally caved into the blog craze! We'll see how long it lasts though because we are proving to be less technologically inclined than we thought we were. Also, our new little puppy keeps prancing across the keyboard so it is hard to keep typing this. We'd like to catch you up on the past year of our life and since a picture is worth a thousand words here goes nothin'!

So yeah...Trish fell into these sticks, almost drowned, but came out looking pretty hot!!!

Most recently we went to the Narrows in Zion's with Trish's sister Shannon and her hubby Tyler. It is definitely one of the most gorgeous places on earth. Loved it!!!

We went to Colorado with our good friend Nicki Schmidt right after the big tornado. It was so sad to drive around and see how many peoples houses and lives were now in shambles. This picture does not even start to do it justice.

Yes we both have our own bowling shoes...

We enjoy bowling, going to rodeo's (Yes we live in Lehi now), playing guitar hero, watching Salt Lake Real against David Beckham (the rest of the team didn't do anything exciting), and recently we've been floating down the Provo river every chance we get. The first time we went Trish lost her wedding ring:( and secretly I think she is hoping we'll find it one of these times down the river:) Oh yeah, I forgot to add that we also love jumping in the pillows at IKEA.

We bought a condo when we first got married (But I don't have a picture of the outside), and we recently just bought this house out in Lehi. We love our new little home and we (Russell more than Trish) love living in Lehi.

The lady who went before us had the cord break as they were bringing her in so she fell about 10 ft into the water. So we were basically freaking out the whole time we were up there.

For our real honeymoon we went to Los Cabos a few months later. We took some books to read but only got through a few pages because there was so much to do. We mooched off of the timeshare presentations for a free breakfast each morning and free activities throughout the day (parasailing, jet skiing, glass bottom boat ride through the harbor) That glass bottom boat sounded really romantic until it picked us up and was more ghetto than the chicken coop I spent my childhood years in:)

For our honeymoon right after we got married we went to Park City where we got to go on a hot air balloon ride. A woo hoo!

Before we got married we went to Florida with the Wilcox's where we went boating on a lake, then air boating through a swamp where we saw hundreds of alligators and even held some small ones. Of course we couldn't got there without visiting the amusement parks:) For those of you who know Tiffani Bates we stayed with her family. It was a super fun vacation!!!
